New – 2018 WFTDA Officiating Clinics and In-Person Education Programs
The WFTDA Education program is proud to announce our expanded in-person educational offerings for Officials around the globe. The WFTDA will continue to operate the WFTDA Officiating Clinics program, as well as provide two new opportunities for Officials to access high-level, WFTDA-approved training in their areas.
The WFTDA remains committed to consistency and standardization in officiating, as well as to providing Officials with the tools and resources needed to succeed at the highest levels. As we roll out these new programs, more information will be provided here.

WFTDA Officiating Clinics
Led by highly skilled and experienced WFTDA Officiating Instructors, WFTDA Officiating Clinics offer immersion into all things officiating and are designed to work with the Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby, WFTDA StatsBook, and Standard Practices of flat track roller derby.
The following locations are in the process of being confirmed for 2018:
- Melbourne, Australia. Hosted by the Northside Rollers, April 28-29, 2018
- Europe. Location TBD. Spring/Summer 2018
- Las Vegas, USA. Hosted at RollerCon, July 25-29, 2018. All fees and participation in this clinic will be handled by RollerCon.
- To attend the RollerCon clinic you must have one of the RollerCon passes (MVP, Skater or Off Skates Pass). Separate WFTDA Officiating Clinic passes will go on sale in the spring (details coming later), but attendees must have Rollercon pass in order to attend. WFTDA Officiating Clinics are designed with a focus on roller derby Officials (Non-Skating and Skating Officials), but are open to Skaters, coaches, and announcers, regardless of affiliation or certification.
More information on curriculum and course set up will be released in early 2018.
The new “WFTDA-Recognized Clinics” program is designed to support high-quality Member-league or partner organization run officiating clinics where organizers build their own curriculum and event structure.
More information on how to apply for this designation, and how to submit your curriculum for review will be released in early December.
A Clinic-in-a-Box is a program offering groups or individuals the opportunity to hire WFTDA Officiating Instructors who can provide WFTDA Officiating Clinic training at a time of their choosing.
