The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) seeks its first ever paid marketing professional, for a full-time position starting April 1, 2014. The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for supporting a variety of organizational development and promotional activities, and will work to ensure that all marketing initiatives are executed properly.

The ideal candidate is a versatile marketing professional who seeks a great opportunity to get involved in all aspects of marketing. You are able to implement marketing campaigns through leadership, creativity, know-how, and solid project management. You understand branding, email, public relations, event marketing, social media, merchandising, advertising, internal and external communications, and the web. You enjoy managing people and projects, ideas and execution, copy and design. Most importantly, you believe in the WFTDA’s mission and programs, and you’re inspired by the chance to develop and execute messages that impact the roller derby community globally.
This is the first time the WFTDA has ever hired a paid professional into a marketing staff position. We are looking for someone with industry chops, but it’s more important to us that you bring vision, leadership, management skills, and motivation toward being a part of radical, strategic growth. We are looking for high energy, maturity, and superior organizational skills with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate will be able to enter the position and manage existing campaigns and projects, but will quickly take the position from “Manager” into a more senior level leader in our organization.
