2016 International WFTDA Championships will be held at the historic Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the original home of the Portland Trailblazers and part of the Rose Quarter Sports Complex! The address of the arena is One Center Court, Portland, OR 97227. The complex is accessed by car, light rail, and bus.
PARKING: There is parking at the Memorial Coliseum. However, we strongly recommend not driving to the venue. The host hotels are located within one mile walking distance from the venue. Parking costs change by day and according to what other events are happening in the complex. Parking rates for this event are currently unavailable. SECURITY: Rose City Rollers will provide volunteer security personnel to attend to crowd control and general security matters. You are advised not to leave valuables unattended as neither the WFTDA, the Rose City Rollers, nor the Memorial Coliseum will be responsible for loss, damage, or theft of your belongings. Any property you bring to the event is at your own risk.
TRANSPORTATION
Here’s how to get to and around Portland, Oregon for the 2016 International WFTDA Championships.
BY AIR: The Portland area is served by Portland International Airport (PDX), located about 10 miles from the host hotels and venue. PDX is served by light rail, car, and taxis.
BY BUS AND TRAIN: Portland’s Greyhound Station and historic train station, Union Station, are located in beautiful Old Town Portland. A quick light rail or bus ride from the train station will get you to the host hotels. Look for the Green Line to Clackamas or the #17 bus Holgate/Broadway.
PUBLIC TRANSIT Portland’s public transit system, Tri-Met has a super helpful trip planner on their website. Just know where you are going and it will help get you there!
BY CAR
Veterans Memorial Coliseum is located right off of main artery I-5. Directions for reaching the venue are below. Please visit the venue’s website for additional detailed driving directions to the venue.
FROM I-5 NORTHBOUND: Take the Rose Quarter Exit, left on Broadway (second light), left on Vancouver Ave (second light), proceed straight, enter parking garages as directed. Or take City Center exit (before Marquam Bridge), proceed north on Front St (Naito Pkwy) over the Steel Bridge, left on Interstate Ave (first light), enter parking garages as directed. Or take I-405 exit to Everett St exit, right on Everett St, proceed over Steel Bridge, left on Interstate Ave (first light), enter parking garages as directed.
FROM I-5 SOUTHBOUND: Take Rose Quarter exit (302A), proceed straight through two lights, enter parking garages as directed.
FROM I-205 NORTHBOUND: Take I-205 N to the City Center/I-84 W exit and follow the I-84 Westbound directions.
FROM I-205 SOUTHBOUND: Take I-205 N to the City Center/I-84 West exit and follow the I-84 Westbound directions.
FROM I-84 WESTBOUND: Follow signs to I-5 N Seattle, take Rose Quarter exit. Turn left onto NE Multnomah (second light). Turn right onto N Interstate (third light including pedestrian crossing light). Enter parking garages as directed.
FROM HWY 26 EASTBOUND: Take I-405 N/Seattle exit, take Everett St exit, exit right on Everett St, proceed straight over Steel Bridge, left on Interstate Ave (first light), enter parking garages as directed. Or take I-405 N exit proceed to I-5 S exit, from I-5 S take Rose Quarter exit, proceed straight through two lights, enter parking garages as directed. Or take I-405 S exit, proceed to I-5 N, from I-5 N take the Rose Quarter exit, left on Broadway (second light), left on Vancouver Ave (second light), proceed straight, enter parking garages as directed.
