Arch Rival held Crime City scoreless for the first 12 minutes of gameplay, but after an 18-point jam by Hanna P put Crime City on the board, Crime began to gain momentum. Curly Håår put up 20 points for Crime City, bringing Crime within four points of Arch Rival. Prince Sofia’s choice to run the next jam long meant the first lead change of the game, bringing the score to 72–71. With less than five minutes left in the first half, Swanson had a huge power jam, putting up an unopposed 18 points and bringing Arch back into the lead, which they maintained for the rest of the game.

In the second half, Crime City ran into penalty trouble. With six Crime City jammer penalties in the half, as well as a cascade of blocker penalties that resulted in Crime City blockers spending twice as much time in the box as the opposing blockers, Arch Rival began to pull further and further ahead. With six minutes left in the game, Swanson picked up a track cut, but solid defense by the Arch Rival blockers killed the penalty, and Swanson returned to the track for a 14–0 jam. Crime City seemed to perk up again in the final jams of the game, but by that point it was too late to come back from the nearly 50-point deficit and Arch Rival took the victory at 220–160.
