2018 RDWS Satellite Series

2018 Roller Derby World Summit Satellite SeriesFollowing the success of the 2017 Roller Derby World Summit in Manchester, UK, the Women’s Flat Track Association is pleased to announce the 2018 Roller Derby World Summit Satellite Series of outreach events taking place at roller derby tournaments and events around the world. The Roller Derby World Summit Satellite events offer opportunities for people in the roller derby community, both WFTDA members and non-members alike, to connect with each other and with WFTDA leadership as we discuss the state of our sport today.The events are open to anyone involved in roller derby and are free to attend. To RSVP and join our list for direct communication prior to and during the event, click the registration links below. Once you RSVP, there is no obligation to attend, and drop-ins will be welcome.

The WFTDA will be hosting outreach meetups at the following events in 2018:

The Great Southern Slam – Adelaide Australia Friday, June 8, 1-5PM
EuroDerbyCon – Barcelona, Spain July 19-22 (multiple sessions)
RollerCon – Las Vegas, NV, USA July 27-29 (multiple sessions)
WFTDA Continental Cup – Kalamazoo, MI, USA Sunday, August 19, 9AM-12PM Register
WFTDA Continental Cup – Omaha, NE, USA Sunday, August 26, 9AM-12PM Register
WFTDA Playoffs – A Coruña, Spain Sunday, September 2, 9AM-12PM Register
WFTDA Playoffs – Atlanta, GA, USA Sunday, September 23, 9AM-12PM Register
WFTDA Continental Cup – Birmingham, UK Friday, October 26, 4-7PM Register
WFTDA Championships – New Orleans, LA, USA Saturday, November 10, 9AM-12PM Register

Derby events like RollerCon and EuroDerbyCon will have multiple meetings across the event, while tournaments will have a meeting that works around the game schedule.

During these events, leadership will follow up with WFTDA’s online town hall series with face-to-face discussions and will lead interactive activities on topics that WFTDA, its membership, and its partners have identified as opportunities and challenges to our sport.

The main topics covered in the 2018 series will be:

    • Diversity and inclusion / advocacy
    • Governance and considerations for the sport
    • Anti-harassment and Code of Conduct initiatives
    • Competitive Structures
    • Officiating
