WFTDA Announces 2024 Global Championships Bracket and Schedule

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) has released the tournament bracket and participating teams for the 2024 WFTDA Global Championships, hosted by the Rose City Rollers in Portland, Oregon, USA, November 1-3.

With the 2023-2024 competitive season, the WFTDA moved to regional rankings, and bids to Global Championships were allocated based on the size and strength of each region [learn more]. WFTDA selected a 13-team bracket in order to accommodate as many teams as possible in the event. Since the regions compete and are ranked separately from each other, and inter-regional play in the Geographically Unrestricted Region (GUR) is optional, there is no global ranking to use to seed a Championship tournament.

To place teams in this bracket, the WFTDA Competitive Play Committee created an approximate ranking for each team that earned a bid at the Regional Championships tournaments, and then reasonable swaps were made within those approximate rankings to avoid regional match-ups in the first, second, and consolation rounds. The final bracket was then reviewed and approved by the Calibration Committee, which is a panel of representatives from each competitive region.

The tournament bracket with game times is posted below, and a printable PDF version with a plain background is available for download (in Letter and A4 sizes). Tickets are on sale for the event, and you’ll find all the information you need on the event on our Global Championships page on WFTDA Tournament Central.
