Victorian Roller Derby League Wins 2017 International WFTDA Championships
Victorian Roller Derby League, of Melbourne, Australia, won the 2017 International WFTDA Championships, on November 5, 2017 in Philadelphia, PA. Rose City Rollers, of Portland, OR, United States, came in Second Place, and Gotham Girls Roller Derby, of New York, NY, United States, came in Third Place.
Victoria defeated two-time defending champions, Rose City, to become the first league from outside of the United States to win the WFTDA Championship and take home the Hydra trophy. Previous four-time Champions, Gotham, bested Denver Roller Derby to take home the bronze.
