WFTDA Officiating Clinics Update; Recognized Clinics and Clinics-In-A-Box Applications Now Open
The WFTDA Officiating Education Committee has opened applications to the new clinic program offerings in 2018, and has updates on the 2018 WFTDA Officiating Clinic schedule.
Currently, we have confirmed one WFTDA Officiating Clinic, which will take place at Rollercon, July 25-29, 2018. All fees and participation in this clinic will be handled by RollerCon.
Due to venue issues, we are still working to schedule the WFTDA Officiating Clinic in Melbourne, Australia, April 28-29, 2018, hosted by the Northside Rollers. An update on ticket sales will be released mid-March for this event. More updates will be provided in the coming weeks.
We are still in the process of organizing a European clinic, scheduled for summer 2018.
Stay tuned to the WFTDA Officiating Clinics Facebook page for updates on these clinics and ticket sale information!
In addition to the standard WFTDA Officiating Clinics, the Officiating Education Committee is excited to open applications for our two new flexible clinic opportunities, the WFTDA-Recognized Clinic and Clinic-in-a-Box programs. Both of these options give hosts the opportunity to book clinics at dates and venues of their choosing, and manage all aspects of the production of the event.
The WFTDA-Recognized Clinic program is designed to support high-quality independently run officiating clinics where organizers build their own curriculum and event structure, approved by the WFTDA. The clinic is independently managed and marketed by the host with the host also assuming all expenses and income, and can operate under the label of a WFTDA-Recognized Clinic.
WFTDA-Recognized Clinics are selected through a quarterly application process.
- For Clinics between April – June 2018: Apply by April 1, 2018
- For Clinics between July – September 2018: Apply by April 15, 2018
- For Clinics between October – December 2018: Apply by July 1, 2018
In contrast, the “Clinic-in-a-Box” program provides groups or individuals the opportunity to book WFTDA Officiating Instructors who will provide WFTDA officiating curriculum-based training at a time and location of the hosts’ choosing. The requested training can focus on specific topics, training at the host’s discretion. These Clinics are independently managed and marketed by the host, with the host also assuming all expenses and income.
