2017 Officiating Clinics Schedule Announced
The WFTDA is excited to announce the 2017 Officiating Clinics schedule. Running from March – June 2017, these clinics offer attendees one-on-one training with the most experienced Officials in roller derby.
WFTDA Officiating Clinics have been offered in North America for eight years, and around the globe for seven. New in 2017, the WFTDA has added a one-day clinic option at several tournaments. This development provides a more condensed opportunity for Officials interested in training, in addition to either working or attending a tournament.
Officiating Clinics are designed with a focus on roller derby Officials, but they are also open to Skaters, coaches, and announcers. The clinics offer an educational experience that combines classroom discussions, small group activities and — for participants in the two-day clinics with scrimmages — real-time application and feedback. The clinics are intended to help build strong officiating teams, enhance league-wide skills and training, and grow communities of local Officials.
The WFTDA remains committed to consistency and standardization, as well as to providing Officials with the tools and resources needed to succeed at the highest levels of officiating.
All clinics are now open for registration. Two day clinics (excluding the RDWS) – $100.00, RDWS Officiating Clinic $120.00, $75.00 for all USA-based One-Day clinics, and $50 USD/$800 AR for the Argentina One-Day clinic (fees for this are payable in cash on-site only).
