Greensboro Roller Derby has put together one heck of a good time this weekend at the 2019 International WFTDA Playoffs: Winston-Salem, and that doesn’t even include all the amazing match-ups coming to you from our 12 participating teams! Read on to find out all the awesome fan experiences awaiting you in WINston-Salem starting September 6.
Want to sit trackside? We got you! Our WFTDA Trackside Fan Zone will be set up with exclusive access only for those who get on the list. What list you ask? We’ve digitized the Fan Zone experience and created one place to easily enter for wristbands to sit in the Trackside Fan Zone, get your name in the Booty Basket drawing, and sign up to participate in halftime games, all with just one click. Yes, we said halftime games! Teams aren’t the only ones competing to earn their ticket to Championships. We have 11 entertaining and engaging halftime games that will test your skills across multiple disciplines. The winners from each game will continue on to our Sunday night “Champions Halftime” during Game 16, where they will compete for the big prize. Only one winner will emerge victorious with a pair of 3-day tickets to the 2019 International WFTDA Championships in Montréal, Canada! That’s a $170.00 value just for playing a couple halftime games!
Oh and did we mention, the halftime entertainment is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Saturday at 5:45pm Vanessa Ferguson, one of the Top 8 contestants on NBC’s The Voice will be performing live.
And on Sunday we have Carver High School Marching Band.

For this after party, we’ll have a local referee, Kylo Ref, akd DJ Lo-Tek keeping the music going, as well as several performing artists including drag performers Velma Violet, Andy Drodge and Gavin Cooley. Designed around the theme of “Roller Derby Can Change The World,” the mural will celebrate those who make the sport happen, including skaters, non-skating officials, referees, volunteers, and fans; and we want each of you to take a turn painting it and literally leave your mark on Winston-Salem!
Oh wait – did we say that was the last thing? Nope! The fun doesn’t stop until Lady Trample and Bambi Bloodlust say so! Join them at the Chicks in Bowls #WFTDAPlayoffs shred session on Monday at Above Board Skatepark at 1-4pm EDT!
