Tournament Announcer Application

Announcer applications for the 2019 International WFTDA Playoffs, Championships, and Continental Cups are now open. Positions available include broadcast and public address announcers, producers, sideline reporters, social media presenters, emcees, and alternates. This year sees a single-stage application, in which candidates apply for locations when submitting applications for consideration.

We are increasing efforts to broaden the languages represented in our postseason events. Announcers who work in languages other than English are encouraged to apply, and to help remove barriers to participation, we have dropped the requirement that candidates for Championships have prior postseason announcing experience. With the WFTDA hosting Championships outside the United States for the first time, we hope to see an increased presence of languages other than English, including French at Championships in particular, both in venue and online; Preference for postseason experience will still be given when staffing Championships, but we will make exceptions for the opportunity to make this a multilingual event. Announcers who work in languages other than English are also encouraged to apply for any locations in the postseason cycle.

The Talent Management Committee is sharing job descriptions for the various announcer roles, as part of our continued effort to make guidelines and resources publicly available. These job descriptions may be found here.

To apply for the Announcer Talent Pool, please fill out this application no later than 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday June 30. Announcer selections will be made in July, with the exception of the crew for Championships, which will be determined after the conclusion of the Seattle Playoff.

Any questions about the Announcer Talent Pool application process may be sent to the WFTDA Talent Management Committee by emailing announcers@wftda.com.
